Meet Anna Tuchin!

Wild Web Women Interview with Anna The Trusted BookkeeperWhat inspired you to launch a web-based business? I was attracted to the idea that I could grow my own business from the comfort of my home and have it be just as efficient as a regular business thanks to all the technology we have today.

What do you love most about having your own business? I love being able to be my own boss and make my own decisions and not be held accountable to anyone but myself.

What are some of your proudest accomplishments? One of my proudest accomplishments was getting my first client after putting in so much time and effort into my business; it felt like all that work had finally paid off and I was going in the right direction.

Where’s your favorite place to get work done? My favorite place to work is definitely my home office. I love the setup that I have and it’s a nice and quiet space where I can completely focus on my work.

Name three web tools you can’t live without.

What is the one book you would recommend other female entrepreneurs read? Girl On Fire: How to Choose Yourself, Burn the Rule Book, and Blaze Your Own Trail in Life and Business by Cara Alwill Leyba.

Are you part of any mastermind or networking groups? If so, which ones? I am part of BNI Connect, it’s a great place for networking and referrals. I also have my business BBFs – MasterMind group with two other bookkeepers and an EA (tax professional). We meet every Tuesday for the last 3 years.

What does your typical day look like? I wake up early in the morning to get my youngest son ready for school, and after I drop him off I come home and finish my breakfast and have some “me” time (walk in the park), and then I get to work! My day is filled with consult calls, networking, and client meetings. I stop working at 4 PM and start cooking, we eat a home cooked meal every day.

How do you unplug from work? In the Jewish religion, every Saturday is Sabbath, or a day where you are not allowed to work. This day is the perfect time to unplug from work, destress, and focus on the most important things in life – faith, family, yourself.

What is a quote you live by? “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill

Wild Web Women Interview Series - Anna The Trusted Bookkeeper in Iowa What investments have most helped your business grow? Investing in employees has definitely helped my business; although expensive, having other people that you can rely on to help you grow takes a lot of stress off your shoulders.

Business-wise, where do you see yourself in 10 years? In 10 years, I see myself expanding my business, living in a warmer place than I do now, and making a much larger difference in business owners lives by introducing advisory and coaching as an additional service.

What advice would you give your younger self? Don’t overthink it; take that leap and you will not regret it.
